A Bittersweet Retreat Cottage sits in a private community, just 200 feet from the river, with access for water recreation. The cottage has all the comforts of home — peaceful, private, cozy, and serene. Enjoy the screened in porch & (NO BUGS), a patio with a great charcoal grill (you bring the steaks and charcoal). There is a fire pit & I provide the wood at no charge, comfortable Adirondack chairs are perfect for a fireside chat while taking in the mountain and river views.

Shar was an amazing host and very friendly. She made our kids brownies and cookies and dog treats. Her place is perfect if you want to get away from the city and enjoy the outdoors. We had a blast and would love to visit again. – 
If you want to bring your well mannered and well behaved 4 legged babies, they are welcomed! The cottage is a perfect place to relax, take in the beautiful Shenandoah River views and mountain vistas! Sanitize wipes & liquid are provided at the cottage for your convenience. Extra guests are $30 per night plus tax, and $40 per night for holidays. Pet fee separate $30 per night, $40 per night for holidays.
